Deleted photos

I’ve got too many photos in my phone. It’s crept up to over 17000 and it’s hard to delete them. The personal ones are really hard to let go. I’m attached to so many of them. I’m not sure if I can wave them goodbye. They do hold me in the past. Tie me together like wrapping paper and string.

The WordPress account only allows a maximum amount of memory and I keep hitting 100 %, so every so often I delete pictures. If I can I remove the free photos from the free photo library, or blurry, not very good ones from my own pictures. I know it’s not what I want to do, but I can’t afford to take on a bigger package. Anyway that means some posts are now lacking images. But I try to delete as few as I can. X

Lots of photos, thousands! Because I use my phone to edit and experiment with images, I keep ending up with too many photos. I’ve worked out (finally) how to optimise them on this new phone, but it means that images I have been adding here are taking up too much space on WordPress /Jetpack.

Editing the photos as I go along does take time when I am busy with other things. Duplications get missed, or sneak into other folders, I haven’t created the folders, the phone does it on its own! Then Jetpack gets upset with me, my picture content is always hovering around 100% so I have to delete old photos (I have over 1800 images in my folder here!).

I’ve started using free images here, but often they don’t really represent what I want to depict, so the majority of images I add are my own.

2000 emails

I finally got my email to work, not on my phone, but on my PC. Help! I found around 3800 emails..

I have deleted about 2000 of them. Mainly notifications from WordPress about all the wonderful blogs here! I think there are about 30 to 40 emails I need to action. Mainly to apologise for not getting back in touch.

A few times I caught the wrong bit of the line of the email (missing the delete box) that clears the ones due to be deleted. At one stage I’d got up to 200 pending deletions! I gave up then, my arm was too painful and shaking to be able to concentrate. Will do more tomorrow… First world problems… I will try and continue to be tenacious.

I thought my media was gone!

I just tried to delete some of my images because the memory on my WordPress media is on 99.8%!

For some reason all the photos went blank and the system would not let me delete any of the images, very worrying. What to do? All I could think was switch the phone off and switch it back on again… I held my breath. Yes! It’s working properly again.

I don’t know why it stopped, I had tried to use the free media section and it would not upload an image from there, so perhaps that created a glitch? All I can say is when I tried to look up the artist John Constable on it I got lots of images that were very generic, and non showed a Constable painting! Oh well….

Too many photos on my phone. My phone memory is at 85% and my SD card is almost full… My WordPress account is around 92% full, mostly I think because I try and post my own artwork here and not to use images off the net.

I need to seriously declutter. I think I will save things to the cloud. But sorting out what to keep? I’m just having a deleting frenzy!

So if you come across a post with words but no picture, I’m sorry but I’ve probably deleted it (getting rid of duplicates or blurry, poor quality images). So now you know

I managed to delete photos from my WordPress account so I can now post new ones. Thanks to my friend for helping and explaining how to do it.

I deleted over 10%, so if you look back at some of my old posts there may not be images to accompany them. At least it means I can avoid upgrading my account and also save a bit of money.

So… Posts and more posts to come
