Purr-atchoo!
Caught mid sneeze
Made me laugh
What a wheeze!
She’s only little
Sneezed three times!
Fast as a flash
From my camera
Sweet, neat, cute.
New paintings and regular art updates.

I painted a dragons eye on Saturday and found someone at the craft fair I was at on Sunday was crocheting karma Chamelions. Weirdly the eyes seem to match! How odd. I’m not sure why I bought the soft toy, it might go to a neice. I was so pleased I thought I’d take a photo of them together. X

You only have to turn your back round here and a cat snaffles your space! I’m letting her stay, I’ll sit on the other chair x

My friend posted a photo of one of her cats yesterday, and it was my cats daughter. She looks so cute with her black mask. She’s grown into a full sized cat, but her sister, who was also adopted by my friend, is only tiny like her mum.
So it’s great to see her thriving. I love her black mask, reminds me of batman! Apparently she was looking in through a window to check if my friends dog was about, but it was in another room asleep.
It’s good to know how they are. I don’t hear about their brothers who were adopted by a couple a few miles away. We did see photos of them growing up though. It’s nice to keep track of them….

Oh you sweet cat
One belly rub required
To make him happy
But beware the claws
That protect his tummy
From your intrusion
Be careful
Or you may lose your hand!

I laughed when I saw him this morning. Paws straight out in front of him, like he was going to gambole off the cushion and bounce on the floor! So comical. It reminded me of a diver spinning towards the water, or a trampolinist spinning somersaults. I took one grainy, dark photo and he woke, so I’ve had to edit the photo, because he moved into a normal, cat curled up, position. If I could I would print this on either side of a circle of card. Punch two small holes in the centre and run a loop of string through. When you twist and stretch the string the cat would bounce and twirl!

She’s lovely, she’s sweet.
She sticks her claws in my knees
Says hello, it’s very cute
But those claws are a brute
Holey trousers, ripped shins,
Make me weep, ouch and eek!
I love her dearly, so much more
But I think my knees don’t need he paw!

Foreshortening does things like making my cats head look large and her paws small. It’s because the main focus of the photo is her head and everything else is further away from the lens including the paperweights, which are actually almost as big as her head. They are all in focus because of the depth of field. (the distance from the lens that stays in focus when you take a picture). The photo was taken on my mobile phone. If I had taken a picture at about the middle of her body I think everything would have been more in proportion. You can use the position of your camera phone to get interesting effects.

A lovely dog we saw while we were out a couple of weeks ago. It was a mixed breed but I can’t remember exactly what? A shitzu crossed with a corgi? It was small and sweet and friendly. I took a photo as I was thinking I might do a small painting including it. I’m not sure what to do in the background. Why are small fluffy dogs so cute? I think it’s the sweet eyes and nose.

We had a little walk today and came across these three goslings taking a stroll along the canal towpath with their mom and dad. The parents were very protective and we made sure we kept away from them. I snuck a quick shot and then cropped it later so that they are easier to see. I think they have slightly longer legs than ducklings. They can’t be very old as they are so small. (parents were Canada Geese).
