Tired
Just a black and white sketch of a face which I then did a small edit on through the photodirector app.
Yes I am a bit tired. But this is more about trying to draw emotions without a reference image. I can see a lot of mistakes, particularly where I’ve mirrored the image. The nose does not sit right, the shading is wrong. But I like using cross hatching. I like thin pens. I don’t think its too bad.
Hayfever.
So much pollen my eyes smart and itch. The breeze is blowing and the grass is full grown. Sneezing and spluttering, breathing in dust. Allergens float in the air.
Rubbing my eyes till they are red. Enough smarting, so I take antihistamines, but it’s still bad. Sleep can help, eyes are protected when they are closed. Having to write short sentences between the tears. Rain is a friend, dampening the dust and pollen, washing it away down the drains.

Kirk and Spock
My favourite sci-fi characters. Captain Kirk and First Officer Spock from the 1960’s TV show ‘Star Trek’. I drew this at a website called Sketchfu which closed a few years ago. Even with the simple tools there I was able to draw them reasonably accurately. There were not that many episodes made and it only ran for three series. But it came back a few years later with follow up films and TV series. The franchise must have made a great deal of money for its backers x.
Gold cat
Birthday present I got on Sunday off a friend who knows I love cats. Gold acrylic paint and fine black ink liner pen. The prompt for this Thursday was a gift I received. #bandofsketchers

Some digital drawings I did nine years ago.
Drawn at the old Sketchfu website, four digital drawings I did there nine years ago.
Sketchfu had four sizes of circular pens, a palette, an opacity and transparency tool and probably an eraser. No applets, no layers, you just built the drawing up. You could share your drawing and others could draw onto it, so we did some collaborations, but it would take ages for the pages to load if you had added to other pages. There were four or five of us sometimes building a picture up on a theme. It was fun!
I don’t know where the ideas come from, I just can’t help being creative.
Gate prompt
#bandofsketchers prompt for Sunday was gate or stile.
I did a coloured drawing of this on the computer but when I tried to save it the computer crashed! Anyway this is a black and white drawing of a broken gate to a field. It was imagined because I couldn’t find a thing that was nice on the computer.
I wonder if the digital drawing I did is saved somewhere on my old PC. Anyway this is the best I can do.
The tools of my trade
I’m learning more about what I can do. I create using anything from post-it notes and collage to the simplest calligraphy pen and paper to the extreme using nail varnish! This is a quick drawing of the watercolours I use together with a mug of water and paint brushes.
