Tuesdays #bandofsketchers prompt was shoes, I drew some of our shoes and sandals, you can see which are my hubbys as I only have small feet. I added the patterned carpet background to jazz it up a bit. Felt pen and fine black ink pen.
New paintings and regular art updates.

Draw triangles and colour them in. I started with a star shape then worked my way out. Who needs adult colouring books when you can make your own pattern. I also tried to vary the colours so that there is more light and shade in it. The paler blue section seems to recede. I just used a set of ordinary felt pens and a fine line pen to draw the triangles. Doing something like this is like a meditation. You can sit and let the world go by as you draw and sketch. You can use any shapes you want and make the pattern as complex as you like. X
I finally decided to draw something different to a whisk which was what other artists in the group had done. I’ve drew a bird beating its wings to take off in the garden. This is for Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt Beat.

Chunky curves, squares and triangles. Growing across the page. I keep doing these. I enjoy making up patterns that can be expanded or manipulated.
Black ink again, thin fine liner. I has fun with it.

Just did this quick sketch of Bear, my friends dog.
The picture is only small. Black and grey ink and a bit of acrylic paint because the fine line black ink was too dark. I hope I’ve made her coat look white enough.
Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was animal or pet so this is what I’m going to post. I hope my friend doesn’t mind.

Just done this black and white sketch of my friend. Using a not very good black fine line unipoint pen (almost run out). Reminds me how much I love doing portraits. Getting the eyes right is my main intention. I struggled to draw her hair.

Quick sketch with pencil colours and fine line black ink.
Two square canvases and a square card. All sitting on my little easle and a paintbrush and plastic tub I use for a palette.
I lined around the coloured pencil to define the square shapes and subjects more, but I didn’t want to overdo things. I do like being challenged to draw different things. Been loving USK prompts.
