I see a dragon

That old Pareidolia kicking in again.

The dragons head upper left, then a thin neck and body, looking a bit like a viking boat. Finally a great sail of a wing catching the glow from the setting sun.

This was last Monday and it lingered on my phone until I found it today.

I don’t see sunsets very often because I’m on the wrong side of the hill. This was at the top of our hill and there are still buildings and trees in the way and as the sun drifts northwest as it sets in the summer there is more vegetation in the way.

Trapped in a top!

I’ve worn this top for years, in fact I was a lot larger when I first got it. But I like it and it’s served me well. But I’ve noticed lately that because of a frozen shoulder and golfers elbow in the same arm I was struggling to bend my arm enough to take off my top.

Tonight was worse. I tried and tried but it wouldn’t budge from my arm. My elbow would not bend and I felt like I was strangling myself. It called for drastic action. Luckily I have a strong pair of scissors. So starting at the wrist I cut up the sleeve. Gradually releasing the pressure. It was particularly difficult as I reached the neck. I was trying not to cut myself! Eventually I was free, but my old cotton top is now in the bin!

Elegant

Sunday’s #bandofsketchers prompt was elegant. My elegant idea was to draw a sewing pattern with a figure in a dress. I was inspired by 1970’s patterns which had elegant ladies sketched onto the sewing pattern cover. But my drawing does not really get the feel. It’s more like something I would have drawn as a teenager! I’m also showing my age. I’m sure I had a stripey skirt a bit like this, that flared out when you moved.

Spinning Top

Not feeling on top of the world today so just did a sketch from memory. Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was Top. I tried to remember what a toy top looks like. I did a sketch with a black ink fine line pen. This is from memory. I can see a bright top spinning in my mind. The top had some holes in so as it span it had a rising and then descending musical tone. Edited in Photodirector to give a slightly abstract effect.
