When I promised to cut down
On sugary foods
I didn’t notice this cheese cake
Lingering just
Out of sight
The chocolate dot
Sat on the counter
Looking for a companion
To contrast with the cherry swirls
Give me strength
Never to return
To this cafe
On pain
Of chilli sauce
Poured on my dessert!
Growling like a wolf
This leaf fell
Onto hard paving
Slabs of grey
Worn and cracked
Struggling to rise again
In a swirling breeze
Like an ice skater
Or a ballet dancer,
Pirouetting
In tight circles
Plummeting suddenly
Down and dead.
Colours swirl and swoop,
Mixing and shifting
Hot and cold
Merging into new colours
Hot orange
Cool blues,
Bright and breezy reds.
This abstract, candy coloured
Whorl of shimmering
World of rainbows.
Colour and shape and hopefully humour. Digital drawing, playing, having fun…. Little fat birdie. Feathers flying, bird, not quite, of paradise? Little heart shape in its eye, only just noticed it, a gleam there. Primary and secondary colours. Swirls and twirls…. I think I need to sleep, I’m dreaming of baby canaries!
