Self portrait reflected in a stained glass window at Little Moreton Hall in Staffordshire. The idea was to create a ghostly image in keeping with the age of the property. I could have gone all out and added an Elizabethan headdress but I didn’t want to over complicate the idea. The painting is set at sunset when things get a bit more spooky. I do like creating narrative images.
I’ve never seen anything out of this world but Tuesdays #bandofsketchers prompt was paranormal. I drew a spooky, ghostly cat, out on the prowl at night. Artrage app using various tools. I think I’ve made him too friendly!
He woke up and saw the figure of a blue woman hovering in the bedroom. She was standing, but as he looked down to the side of the bed her feet were a couple of inches above the floor.
She had no facial features, like a mannequins dummy, blank faced, not even eyes. No mouth, no sound. He felt, somehow though, that she was looking at him? The angle of her head, tipped down and intent on where he lay. He noticed motes of dust in the sunbeam shining through the window. He could see them floating beyond the figure. It was dissolving as he watched.
Finally it faded, gradually, slowly, melting into nothing. No explanation, no reason, gone. All he felt was a wash of calm, not fear, and relieved that she was gone.
Take a photo of a crinkly motorbike cover, shade areas to make a face appear. Use the spray brush tool and a colour picker tool in a drawing app to match in shapes and colours. Add shapes using various pens like chalk or wax crayon options if you have them in your app. Then change the filter to a more black and white/ sepia effect. Finally use a filter to make some areas more fuzzy than others.
Voila you have a spooky, ghostly figure.
