Vaccum repaired

Oh my goodness! My vaccum cleaner stopped working/ wouldn’t switch on and I guessed it was full of dust, so I put in a new bag, but it still wouldn’t work. So my good friend L said she would try and fix it, she’s good at that kind of thing.

She looked at several YouTube videos and found out how to take the top cover off. Then you had to unscrew another cover to get to the switch….

The problem was the cover was held in place by Allen key. Hers would not fit. So she looked at more videos. Turned out you could gently prise the switch out of its hole to get under it. Dust and debris of rust was discovered. She was very good and brave because my cats have used the machine as A perch for years! I’m embarrassed to reveal how bad it was.

Anyway she gently cleaned it out and put it back together. Lo and behold it works!

So happy, doesn’t make up for the car but it’s saved me paying out a lot to repair it. X

Now I’ve asked if she can fix my kettle!?

Sweet cat

He’s getting older, I watch him daily. He’s getting older, but he can still be kittenish. A quick mrpurr and then a dash across the room. But he likes to sleep. His heart is old, beats slowly. I hope he will stay a few years longer. Happy and contented.

Yesterday I watched a YouTube video of a man saying farewell to his much loved cat. He lay on the floor, strolling the cats nose and cheeks gently. You could see his tears. I remember the times I have had to say goodbye too.

So much sadness in the world today. Farewells are mounting up. Let there be love and peace for a change. X

Cats and trees

When you have cats sometimes you can’t have Christmas trees. Baubles and tinsel are just too tempting. Cats who climb will be up to the top of the tree in seconds. There is also the danger of them chewing on the tree lights wire. Also you don’t know if they are going to chomp on some of the traditional toys, like tiny Teddy bears, that might have been handed down from generation to generation. Granny’s baby jesus or the angel with real feathers can be casualties! I’ve seen a few videos of anti cat tactics, and the one of hanging the tree from the ceiling looks pretty good. One solution I once did was to cut out the shape of a Christmas tree and container and stick it to a wall, then sticking real baubles and ones you have drawn onto it. Make sure any baubles are stuck on well and are anti shatter. Other ideas include a bauble free tree… But it might still get climbed!

Old YouTube channel

Ignore the photo. I was just trying to find a simple picture to post to illustrate this.

It’s been several years since I wanted to post something to YouTube. It’s clearly changed a lot, because although I could find my old videos on my mallchris channel, I could not sort out how to post videos to it. My only option was to create a new channel there. It also made me post in my full name. Not something I would have done in the past. Some of my old videos are me singing, which is why I wanted to disguise myself! I’m not bothered any more. They are harmless.

If you want to go and have a look. Be bored by my little train videos! I’ve also got a couple of short films about some of my art….

Bye for now.
