It’s not a black and white filter, it really is grey and foggy. Christmas morning, 2024, Stoke. Collaged tree.
As the dawn breaks I hope things brighten up. As you know I’m fascinated with patterns, I somehow see bats and a cats face and a grumpy dragon, butterflies or owls in this collage.

I’m amazed it’s sunny today, we started it with a bright red sunrise this morning that indicated bad weather. It has been grey and foggy for over two weeks, dark and gloomy. I’d begun to think the sun would never return. Hopefully the light will last a while.
It’s expected to be sunny for a couple of days before it starts to rain. I’m sad that it’s like that as in winter we have so few hours of sunshine anyway. I suppose you just have to find a way through.

A random selection of fallen leaves, early autumn, now there are far more. Hedgehogs might be using them for nests, squirrels have places to hide walnuts, and the daffodil bulbs they have dug up!
It’s been very cold for the last couple of days, bright sunlight today with wispy fog in the morning. The frost has come, and in the north of Scotland it’s been snowing. A milder spell is forecast for next week. I’m a typical Brit, obsessed with weather and the seasons.

I saw this window in the Japanese restaurant near us. I decided to collage it to see how it would look in a duplicate form. I tried rotating it but I think this is the best version of it. I like the flatness of it, the misty feel, as if you had come across this structure on a foggy night. Perhaps reflected in a still river. I love playing with images.
