Humane mouse trap

A friend asked if anyone knew a humane way to trap a mouse. This was a method I was once told about for a humane trap.

Put chocolate in a wide necked bottle. Prop it up and put a tea towel in the neck so the mouse can climb up. The idea is the mouse eats the chocolate but then can’t climb out of the bottle because the glass is too steep and slippery. When you find it in the morning use the teatowel to stop up the neck of the bottle and take it outside to release.

It might work, you never know. At least the mouse won’t be eating your food. The bottle should be put in a quiet place so it feels safe. X

Change

Does anyone else have a partner that keeps his change in plastic boxes or tea cups? I came in tonight and yet another receptacle was filled with change (and a bit of satsuma skin). The trouble is he doesn’t like spending change so it builds up.

Some people fill large bottles with copper coins. I think they then donate them to charities. I don’t know what to do about this money  except spend it! One of the irritating things about living with people is that we all have our own way of doing things, and sometimes you have to have a bit of give and take.

Green glass

Frosted glass with fish etched into it. A glass made from an old wine bottle cut in half. I’ve had this and it’s pair for about ten years?

It’s good to recycle things, save things from just getting smashed and and thrown away. Mind you now I’ve posted this no doubt it will get broken.

I like the colour of this. I guess it’s rather like an apple green colour. Tasty.
