Don’t know what these berries are on but they are beautiful, they were along a track downhill from the canal. There were also pieces of old wood that had bracket fungus growing on them. Autumn is a lovely time of year when strong colours can ping out. Looking at the tangle of branches on the left hand side I might play with it and duplicate the pattern.
I like ivy, it covers the ground, grows up trees, makes berries birds can eat. Places where birds can nest where it grows up walls. This is a mixture of plain and variegated varieties. It’s mature because it’s growing berries now. There is a Holly Bush near it which is also making berries. I might even make a wreath for the door when it gets to Christmas.
Close up berries turned into a strange pattern. It looks almost like some odd creature. Symmetry does strange things, creating unexpected images. I was pleased with the clarity of the photo I took this from. Being able to see the individual hairs on the fruit, and the sheen on the berries. The shadows and hollows also work really well.
As a change from blue, white and black, I’m having a red drink (cranberry juice, slimline tonic and frozen berries instead of ice) in a green glass which is the bottom of a recycled wine bottle.
Tasty, low calorie and has a bit of fibre in it. I think I’m going to have a rest from painting for the rest of the evening.
