Bizarre?

No it’s a friends knee!

My friend was wearing a pair of trousers with abstract cats on it. At one stage the folds in the cloth made it look like a giant, one eyed alien cat was staring at me.

I can imagine a world with different coloured beasts, each of them monocular or cyclopean. Perhaps they have no need for binocular vision, especially if the planet is always foggy so you never get to see great distances. Or an ocean world with dim views of reefs full of eel like creatures? Colours would be similar to the way octopuses or squids change when attacked or showing emotions.

Whatever you want to think, but I do like the bizarreness of this photo.

Making a world

Not satellite images. These are photos of my washing up bowl with the cold water tap running and a little bit of washing up liquid added. The bright patch and the dark curves are the sky and plant leaves reflected in the surface of the water and the running tap gave swirls and vortices that made the slight foam look like swirling clouds.

Third set…

Probably my final version of a landscape imagined from a set I made in a box. There are two previous ones. This time the figures are further forward and one couple have been switched round, the Dalek and the Alien Goat are differentiated by colours. The Buddha has become more of a geological outcrop in the landscape and the boat has less detail. Finally it is set at night..
