Helicopter overhead

Stock photo

Something was happening. The whirring sound of a helicopter grew closer, then it was overhead, I was inside my house and didn’t know exactly where it was but it was very loud! Then three police cars, sirens blaring, drove up the street.

I decided not to go out and look, as I didn’t know if it was some sort of car chase and my front door opens directly onto the pavement and street. I’d just watched the news about speeding cars and I didn’t want to see a crash.

The Helicopter was circling overhead, but with a phone flat battery I couldn’t take a photo (usually helicopters here are transporting supplies or patients to the local hospital). The helicopter got very close and very loud which was a bit frightening. More police cars shot up the hill, what was going on? After about a quarter of an hour things calmed down. I used the excuse of going out to pick up my milk off the garden gate at the side of the house to see what was happening. What I saw about 50 to 100 yards up the hill were some police cars, blue lights flashing, on the street and more inside the yard of the local pottery factory. Something has clearly happened there. I guess I will have to wait for this afternoons or evenings news.

Silly idea

Doodle of a flying fish… Yes its daft, I was just thinking about different ideas, air and water, crazy evolution. I don’t know what gave me the idea, where it came from. We are doing idea generation at college and we have to come up with new ideas, this was just one of them…. I need to do more, it’s only being playful…

Red arrows at Rhyl

IMG_20180825_140514

In August last year we were at Rhyl watching the red arrows flying over the sea, with THOUSANDS of people watching the show on the seafront.

The thought of warm Welsh sea breezes really makes me sad that I can’t go there at the moment.

I remember seeing something like a helicopter, an auto giro I think it was called? And an air and sea rescue helicopter. There were all sorts of different planes doing aerobatics.

The thing is though, I could live without the planes, and the crowds. I just wish I could go and look at the sea again, with its constantly changing waves. To see white horses as the wind whips up the waves. Or a flat calm with blue ripples.

The town must have suffered because of the lockdown. How are people coping? A little town on the North Wales coast, where most of the income is raised from holidays and tourism.

But the sea, that’s what calls me. Great storms, gentle tides, boats and ships, but mainly sea.

Happy

Drawing in two apps, artrage oils and a sketching app. I just wanted to draw a happy face. At the moment my husband is playing with a toy helicopter and it’s not going well. He’s had it caught on the curtains and just gone in the waste paper bin. Meanwhile I’m trying to draw, and then write this. Hmmm… How happy am I … I guess OK, not unhappy, slightly annoyed. But relaxed until the copter comes rushing past my face  The batteries will be flat soon you only get 5 to 10 minutes flying time then it has to be charged for 30 minutes. In the meantime I will carry on Doodling. …
