Christmas cactus

One of my Christmas cactuses on the kitchen windowsill has come into flower. I hope the rest will flower too. I have ten different Christmas cactii there. I think they are not doing as well as they can because I am not watering them enough.

On the end of the sill was an old amarylis plant, I think I’ve overwatered it. But it was about ten years old. I also have a maidenhair fern on the bathroom that is huge but most of it’s leaves have gone brown. Probably because I had the radiator fixed in the bathroom and it gets too hot in there. I need to sort things out…..

Passion flower

At a local garden centre I saw this lovely passion flower. Mine has died off so I will have to plant a new one.

My Parkinsons is playing up this weekend and I haven’t been out. All my limbs are shaking and aching and I’m having to hang on to my phone hard to stop it jiggling all over the place.

I would like to go out and do some gardening, but there have been loads of heavy showers and I don’t feel stable enough on my feet. Tomorrow a lot of things need doing and I hope I feel a bit better by then.

When will they flower?

My orchids occasionally flower, but they haven’t for ages. The new one I bought still has flowers on it, but the buds soon fell off. I’m trying to feed them but I think I need to get bigger pots for them and new orchid compost/ fibre. I probably don’t water them enough and I don’t spray mist them. But I have had them for years. They have lots of ariel roots, there leaves are mostly green. So I will try and pamper them more.

Green amaryllis

Green amaryllis bulb about to burst, the last years leaves still surviving in another pot and some darker green leaves in another pot. The living room reflected behind in the background. Today’s #bandofsketchers drawing this afternoon. I kept the colours to a minimum to emphasise the greens.
