Bright auroras

Taken last night about 1.30am. I could see the sky was overcast, but it looked strange so I took photos again…. I think it must have been another aurora?

60 second exposures, sadly I can’t control the camera shake. I did not change the brightness or contrast, or alter them in any way. I only zoomed in a bit because the window looked to small in the original picture in my bedroom. I guess this shows if you can persevere you can get something interesting.

Yesterday’s tomatoes

Actually my small 2022 crop.

I only put in a couple of small plants this year so we have had about 8 or 10 tomatoes this year. I just haven’t had the heart. Then this appeared on my Facebook memories and I’m amazed at the sunshine. This last few weeks have been a succession of grey, wet days, Atlantic lows storming in with chill winds. According to the weather forecast September might be slightly better. I’d like something summery please, not too hot, not to cold. X

Heavy cloud

It went really dark earlier on. Heavy dark grey clouds heading this way, overwhelming the sun. Later a golden ray of sunshine snuck underneath the layer as the sun started to set. The wind was blowing strongly for a few hours but this has now settled. If the sky clears it will get cold as the wind is blowing from the North East.

Why are we so bothered by weather here? Because its almost always changing. You can buy postcards that say if you can see the view wait half an hour and it will rain, and if you can’t see the view it’s already raining!
