A painting

Name the most expensive personal item you’ve ever purchased (not your home or car).

Not these

I don’t think my insurance company would appreciate me giving out details of what I bought and how much it cost. This post may be fun, but it’s encouraging people to share information that might just be tempting enough to cause a theft.

Yes I know I might be overreacting, but my Jetpack account gets shared to other social media sites. People here might not know where I live, but others do.

I’d like to know who writes these prompts? I try to answer most of them, then I wonder if I’m being foolish? Yes it’s more content for my page, and it saves me having to think about a topic sometimes. But am I letting my guard down too much! I can chose my own topics and be circumspect, but answering others questions can be too enlightening for your own good. Beware…

Water troubles

Two years after we had a possible leak in our garden which we were advised was a ‘spring’ we had the water company round again. They had renewed the water stop taps and could hear water rushing through the pipe, much more than we would use in the three houses it supplies.

So after contacting our insurers two years ago and being told by the workmen they sent that it wasn’t a leak, it now is! Now I’m waiting for a letter so I can inform the insurance it’s real. Hopefully we are still insured and we can get it sorted out. Fingers crossed. I will be pleased if we stop having pools of water down at the bottom of the garden.

Hubby’s Motorbike Stolen

Hubby’s Motor scooter was stolen early this morning. We went to bed late after watching a film. Then about five am someone started hammering on our front door. Hubby shouted he was calling the police, and the man outside said he was the police!

He said they had just seen it being ridden round Stoke and that it had been stolen. Hubby checked the gate and the padlock and hasp had been broken and the motorbike / scooter was gone.

They went off and we decided to drive round to see if we could find anything. What we did find was a large covered mobility scooter in the alleyway by our garden. It had been damaged where someone had broken through its faring to hot wire? The motor. I guess they must have done the same with ours and ridden off. On it. We reported it to the insurers, we will see what happens.

Sore shoulder

It’s been about six weeks now since I think I hurt my shoulder. The doctors agreed I needed physios they sent me a letter to book an appointment. But there are no appointments. I’m still in pain and no further forward. I wonder if things will ever get back to normal (shoulder and life). I think it’s partly to do with tension. I haven’t got depressed but I seem to always be hunching my shoulders up. I might try and get to yoga again if it starts up again.

When I think about it though I can manage, I have been managing. What about all the people who never get treatment. Who live in poverty in rich and poor countries where health treatment is based on expensive insurance that doesn’t cover existing health issues. I know how lucky I am.
