New paintings and regular art updates.

Me at 18.

I have no idea where there paintings are now, but thus was me at 18. My work was part of a group exhibition for my foundation course in Art. Why did I have curly hair?
I think the picture I was holding was in watercolour or black quink ink? The top picture is my mirrored image, with desks in the background. I don’t have the article any more, it’s got lost in the mists of time. I posted this somewhere on line and kept a copy of it. I can’t say the exact date it was taken… How I wish I could go back to those days!

Painted a few years ago at Bovisand Lodge, near Plymouth. The tree is really old and at the back of the carpark. I painted it in situ. I think I must have sold this one a couple of years ago as I can’t remember where it went. I quite like trying to use strong colours in watercolour. It’s more interesting than building up pale layers.

Several years ago I offered to do a painting for whoever made the highest bid for a charity auction. I don’t remember what the bid was but I did this portrait of the bidders dogs. It’s in watercolours on watercolour paper and framed. The paper was a3 but the mount is wide and cut in more of a letterbox shape because of the composition.
I loved painting them, they have such cheeky faces. I also loved painting the patterned cloth they were lying on. I think it’s a throw.
You know where to contact me if you would like to commission me.
I did a series of illustrations for the canal and rivers Trust a couple of years ago. They were included in a leaflet about James Brindley the canal builder.
Each illustration was acrylic paint on watercolour paper because I wanted a more opaque picture than with watercolours. Each one was in an oval or round frame.
I wish I had a copy of the leaflet but I think they all went..
