Sweet potato

Good for you
I only tried these a year ago

I didn’t realise how tasty these tubers were. We always ate ordinary jacket potato’s and boiled or mashed ones, so it was a bit of a change.

But then someone suggested trying them because they have less carbohydrates and they also have fibre. Good if you have diabetes, and reduces sugar intake

They also go really well in curries. So if you haven’t tried them? See what you think. They get my vote. Easy to cook and really tasty.

Treats don’t last

Yummy chocolate cherry treats don’t last long and if I keep buying them, then they are no longer treats!

Only eight in the box, everyone tasty and sweet. With that sharp cherry tang.

I’d buy them every week, but they are not good for me. I swore not to eat as much sugar, but I think I’m addicted to it!

Only savoury treats now? I don’t know, the temptation is too great. Definitely wrapped in red for danger.

If you get to have a treat, enjoy.

Esther’s prompt this week. Sweet or Savory?

This is what I wrote :

I’m having trouble with  diabetes because of my love of that sweet stuff called sugar.
I was sad and upset because of a bereavement and found sweets and cakes became my comfort. Instead of the occasional cake I became obsessed with buying myself boxes of chocolates, or sweet pastries or cream cakes almost every day.
Meanwhile I stopped eating as many savory things. I’m not eating enough vegetables and this has impacted my blood chemistry. So the point I want to make is don’t eat sugary stuff to excess and try not to get addicted to it. I’m trying to be good now…
