New paintings and regular art updates.
I did these a few months ago. The designs had to include red and black. I was going to send them off to a website but I forgot, got to involved in other things and lost track of time, so by the time I did remember it was too late. Adding more white to both images helped I think because you can see the images more clearly. I’ve always thought two cats would make a good yin yang symbol, and the teapot? Because we live in the heart of the potteries.

This was on the back door this morning. Resplendent in red and black, this is a Burnet moth I think. The black wings had little red patches on them. I couldn’t get a good photo because the light from outside was making it difficult to see the moth properly.
I feel lucky that we are finding such beauty in our garden.
I might be submitting some little black and red drawings to a group exhibition. It’s not something I’ve done before. The work is meant to be two inches square with it being in ink and on white paper.
After drawing the two images on the left side of the paper, I realised there was not enough white and I had used too dark a red in the first one.
I tried to draw the two patterns again, but they didn’t come out as well as I’m still quite tired from staying up too late last night. What do you think? Are they interesting enough?
