First haircut since lock down!

My friend came round and gave my hair a trim today (another friend has also offered).

I was sitting in my dressing gown keeping warm, when a friend rang up. Do you want a haircut? I thought about it. Yes why not. She arrived twenty minutes later with scissors and comb. Ten minutes later and I felt lighter and neater. No fuss with washing and drying, no conditioner. I’d washed my hair already. I tried cutting my fringe (why do Americans call a fringe  bangs?) but I couldn’t really see it properly so she finished it off.

Midway through the cut another friend rang, so I rang her back and chatted about this and that. All the company tired me out, but I’m glad they got in touch. Now I’m surrounded by hungry cats. A reason to go shopping in a bit. Life, you can’t always hide.

Short, artistic, old!

How would you describe yourself to someone?

I don’t have brown hair anymore, and it’s rather longer than this painted self portrait. I still wear glasses. I’ve been trying to loose weight and succeeded in dropping 35 kilos.

I am generally cheerful, despite old age creeping up and breaking bits of me. I mean if you see me across a crowded room I’ll probably be the one shaking and staggering a bit?

I’ve always been short. I knew people got taller as they grew older, so I was very disappointed when I stopped growing but other family members didn’t! I’ve always assumed myself to be ‘good’, and have been described as pleasant. But I got a stubborn streak from my mother and grandmother and I’m quite moral and believe we are all entitled to our rights and shouldn’t be pushed around.

And I try to be creative, I love art, invention, science, science fiction and cats, and as someone just said I’m a good artist!

Hair

I need a haircut! It’s been two years since my last one and my hair is all split ends and straggly. It means that I shall have to have about four inches cut off because I like the length. Its taken me decades to get it this long! Plus I need a fringe cutting back in. These days I look like a dandelion. Very fluffy like an old English shepherd dog when it’s washed. I’m not showing my face, and I’ve added texture to my hair, it’s never been sleek and shiny, but as I get older it had got more like hay!
