I see the world in patterns sometimes. Bricks in blocks inspire me. Skies flare with light. Trees line up in rows and pools are perfectly placed. How? A digital app called layout that is linked somehow to Instagram. Take a photo run it through layout. Enjoy the result.
Cat on a mat… I’m thinking of doing a painting of our cat Gracie. But maybe slightly abstracted way by changing the colours slightly. I quite like the turquoise and pink version.
I just like the look in her eyes… “what are you up to?” “again?” they notice me creeping up with my phone.
So like everything else I have to play (I get bored easily) I’ve recently seen some beautiful paintings of cats. There is something very surreal about them. They stare at you in so mesmerising a way. They always enthrall me.
I think this counts as a visual illusion. I took a photo of a mince pie tin and moved it round in an app. When I looked at it, it looked like some of them looked like craters and some like they protrude. I think this is because the shading is throwing the light in opposite directions. The middle row is the most confusing.
