So much pollen my eyes smart and itch. The breeze is blowing and the grass is full grown. Sneezing and spluttering, breathing in dust. Allergens float in the air.
Rubbing my eyes till they are red. Enough smarting, so I take antihistamines, but it’s still bad. Sleep can help, eyes are protected when they are closed. Having to write short sentences between the tears. Rain is a friend, dampening the dust and pollen, washing it away down the drains.
Every so often my hubby starts sneezing. It’s usually out of the blue. He will sneeze for ten or twenty minutes, then stop. It must be an allergy but we don’t know what sets it off.
The reaction is so strange, we can’t work out what is setting it off. Eventually it will abate, but it’s upsetting when it happens.
The number of people who have allergies is increasing. It appears to be because we might live in homes that are too clean or that we now eat more unusual foods or drinks that may cause problems. I don’t know… At least he’s stopped sneezing!
I’m fed up. It’s that time of year and I’ve got a sore throat. Shakey, aching. I know I need to expect it, but it’s so annoying, I had my flu jab but this seems like more of a cold. It means I’m just sitting round, hoping it clears up soon.

Yesterday, at choir practice I started with a tickly cough. One of those ones you get sometimes when you hold a note for too long. But then I started wheezing… Lovely… Now this morning the coughing, sneezing, and spluttering has started. I hope I’m not in for a bad bug or anything. I’ve got stuff to do, people to see as they say. X
