We had a starter each of Thai fishcakes then I had Thai Noodles with squid, prawns, fish balls, spare ribs and chicken. This was mixed with spices and vegetables. As usual the portion size was a bit too big for me. But I really enjoyed it. Not to spicy not to mild.
We were at Sawadee Thai Taste in Stoke. We go there about once a month because its nice to try new flavours every so often. But I’m also not going out very often because of Covid. I have to feel safe to go out!
Delightful starters, tasty mains. We really enjoyed the evening meal at the local Thai restaurant. We had Thai fishcakes and spare ribs, then I had glass noodles and seafood with mushrooms and vegetables. Hubby had a hot beef green curry and sticky rice. It was a lovely evening, with a friendly waitress. The only thing that spoiled it was I had a couple of Gin and tonics and wasn’t driving so we had to dash home on foot because it started to rain and we’ve just had a bit of thunder and lightening.
In other news I think England may have beaten someone at football, but I’m not interested. There was an awful lot of shouting as we made our way home.
We had a Thai meal tonight. Look away if you don’t like prawns. Very tasty, low carbohydrates. With mussels, squid and scallops.
Sometimes it’s good to try something new, rather than having the same food every day. But then I am lucky to have that opportunity. Its difficult to know how the first world can do so much when so many other people in the world have nothing or next to nothing….
‘Please put down your cutlery, an error has occurred in the seafood menu.’ Blared the tannoy in the restaurant, ‘whelks were mistaken for scallops’. ‘cuttlefish have been substituted for squid’ ‘this restaurant has had to reboot its robot chef.’
Di and Jo sat mournfully waiting, twenty minutes passed. The auto platter was steaming and the Dover sole on it had started to sizzle.
‘So much for a quiet evening out’ muttered Jo. ‘Not very romantic,’ said Di, a frown on her face. ‘Where’s the Piscean monitor when you need him?’
Jo thought for a while ‘all at sea?’ she quizzed. Di replied ‘that’s a fishy tale!’
