Are you the same person?

Is it a scientific fact? Do all the atoms and molecules in your body get replaced every seven years? Not all at once of course, but over an average lifetime the atoms will be swapped out over about seven years. They must come from somewhere, food, drink, respiration, as we grow up and gain mass, then people tend to shrink a bit as they get older. So obviously people lose atoms and molecules via bodily waste, then blood transports food and oxygen around the body and helps to convey away waste from cells (this is where the lymphatic system is working too). The blood brain barrier prevents blood getting into the nervous system, but there must be a mechanism to get oxygen and other nutrients and waste in and out.

When I first heard the statement I wondered if it could be true? But I’ve heard it again and again. I could fact check it, but I’ll take it as truth. So if molecules can change can we really say we remain the same? Does that not mean that a Leopard CAN change its spots? We can change our minds, change our behaviour. You don’t have to be limited to one train of thought because you literally HAVE changed!

Need more….

My craft stall

I’m running out of minature paintings, I’ve sold a few and given some as presents. They are all different and I need to paint some more. What to paint? I’ve done anything from a Morris minor car to the planet Jupiter. I’ve also painted the moon, birds, flowers, hearts, patterns and giraffes in the sunset. Cats of course and stained glass windows.

They are more craft than fine art I think, but if someone wants a tiny painting, matchbox sized, they don’t need much space to display it! It can go on a shelf or a bookcase, or anywhere else. They are not expensive despite the time it takes to paint them. I just love sharing art.

‘Balti’ printer?

After a week of trying to get my new printer to work I finally gave up and took it back to the shop. The computer man changed the inks, tried doing a scan and a print, but apart from the very faintest small amount of blue lines nothing showed up. Half an hour of watching him try and work it out and we both concluded it was faulty. I rang hubby to say unlock the front door, I would be bringing the replacement printer home as the one I had bought last week was faulty.

Silence for a second, then my hubby asked. ‘you’re bringing home a Balti?’

No I said, ‘faulty’. He again asked if it was a Balti? I give up! I walked home with the printer. I got home and almost told him his tea was in the printer!

By the way I have to rate the computer shop as very good and helpful…

Car door update…

We have an old car (no not this one) but parts for it are getting harder to find.

I had to have a new drivers side inside door catch because the old one snapped. We couldn’t get the right one so had to wait for something similar from Latvia. I picked it up from the garage and the door was a bit stiff, I got home, locked the car but when I went to open it later it wouldn’t unlock, in the end we got in by unlocking the passenger door and leaning across to open the drivers door from the inside. We took it back to garage and they oiled the catch and took the surround taken off as it looks like it was catching on it.. Fingers crossed….I don’t want to scrap the car because of it..
