Noises in the garden and the shed.

Snuffling, rushing past, got me rattled. Some sort of noise being created by a thing out in the garden. But the gates locked and the sheds shut. Bowls are rattled, things clash, is it the wind, a burglar, a rat, or a hedgehog? I guess hedgehog…. They like standing on the edges of their bowls to get at the cat food we put out for them. Not sure about the rushing past though? I think it’s the cat doing that…. Anyway we had a good walk round in the rain and the dark… Nothing dangerous seen… Maybe we’ve got badgers?…..

Jeans weigh?

I decided to weigh myself this morning, but I was a bit heavier than yesterday. So I thought I would take me jeans off ( I guess they must weight at least 0.5kg?).

On the scales again…. Exactly the same weight! So I thought I would weigh my jeans. 0kg! I have weightless jeans!

Clearly the scales are not that sensitive. If I use them now I’m not sure how accurate they will be…..

My nose….?

My hubby just said (I misheard) can you look up my nose. What he actually asked was could I look up minnows.

Why? He bought a few for the pond and he wanted to know how big they get as they are only about two centimeters.

It’s amazing what you can find on line. I looked u Chinese minnows. They can grow to four centimeters long. They are bread to have some bright colours and they live on insect larvae and fish food for ponds. As we have midge or gnat larvae growing in the pond I hope they will be happy. They are living with a few goldfish and some ramshorns snails. They seem happy.

Bog snorkeling

What is this?

Looking at Wikipedia I quote:

“Bog snorkelling is a sporting event in which competitors complete, in the shortest time possible, two consecutive lengths of a water-filled trench cut through a peat bog. Competitors must wear snorkels and flippers and complete the course without using conventional swimming  strokes, relying on flipper power alone. A wetsuit is not compulsory, but is often worn.”

I only looked this up because there is a channel identity thing for BBC1 which has bog snorkeling in it. Not having heard of it before, and not knowing that it was a sport I was fascinated by the idea. Its odd what humans get up to. Apparently it’s held in Wales, Ireland, Sweden and Australia?

Odd things

They are only some shells and a glove, but they don’t half look odd if you manipulate the photos. More organic? Strange, like octopuses or sculpture?

Never avoid the odd, I you can find all sorts of things in it, on it, through it.

Just fling an image at the screen, catch and twist it. Photo hop it or use another generic app! Don’t be scared be adventurous. You can have a good time playing with photos.
