Aurora again! Can’t believe it!

If the sky looks odd I take a photo now. Just one this time….

Reports say that aurora are due because of big solar flares so I decided to look. The sky looks cloudy, but I’m short sighted and have cataracts so I can’t really tell. Plus it’s too cold to go outside and I don’t want to trip up in the dark so I have a light on in the living room. Parkinsonism makes me shake so as this is a 60 second exposure it’s all very blurry. But camera shake does not change the colour of the sky to green!

Probably everyone is in bed but I give you…. It’s cloudy but the sky’s green again! 3.10 am 5.10.24 in Stoke, England from my kitchen window.

More auroras due?

This was from last time.

Two big solar flares have recently flung energetic plasma out into space from the sun over the last couple of days. The radiation released arrived at earth quickly and blacked out some of our short wave radio signals, but matter can take days to arrive. So this weekend there may be another aurora show then. I’m getting my camera ready! I just hope it’s not cloudy..

Gloomy

Sitting in the dark like Miss Haversham from Great Expectations, or the boy Colin from the story “the secret garden”.

It’s not as bad as it looks, I’m only inside because it’s been a grey wet day. Gloomy and full of cloud. At least the plants are getting watered.

Yes I left the curtains closed, but it wasn’t worth opening them. There was a lorry outside the factory over the road. It was pumping clay slurry. It was pumping all day, very noisy diesel engine. Working all day. They do it once a month. I couldn’t be bothered to look at it so I left them closed. Hoping for brightness tomorrow.

Autumn colours

This was a real leaf today. Its a bit blurred, but the colours are accurate. I walked around a local lake today, only a week later than I intended, but it did me good. It was grey and overcast, there were not many bright leaves, but right at the end of the walk I saw this. Half disintegrated, but colourful and cheerful on a gloomy day, it bought a smile to my face.
