A photo taken a couple of months ago I think. It was in colour but I changed it to black and white. It was taken at Hanley Park after a choir performance. The sun burnt through the must for a while but then it drifted back in again. Swirling round the bandstand and making it chilly again. But it was so atmospheric, literally!
I was looking out of our window and I saw two grey horses, unaccompanied walk past. They were walking in traffic and towards the main road. I pointed it out to hubby who went out to try and direct them while I watched and rang the police. He managed to get them across the road to the local vets, where some of the nurses came out to help. In the meantime I was explaining where it was happening to the police when the owner of the horses arrived. She explained that the farrier who had been shoeing the horses had left the gate open and they had got out. I went to get my phone to take a picture but they were halfway up the hill when I got back out. It was great that neither of them was injured.
When I think about my vision I am so happy that I can see with the full spectrum of visible light (colour) . I know different animals can only see certain colours, sometimes just black and white and but others like snakes and insects can even see into the infra red and ultra violet.
Then there is colour blindness, where some cells in a person’s eye are not properly developed or can be missing. Then they have colours missing from their vision. For instance red green colour blindness. Apparently males suffer from this more than females. As I say I feel lucky to have good colour vision. X
I took this as a colour photo but decided to put a black and white filter on it. No real cat was put in a bag for the purposes of this photo.
I liked the geometry of the sharp white moon and the diagonal of the table runner. Grey is always useful in black and white photos.
