How smug he is,

this grinning cat,

He ate the cream

He’s getting fat.

He purrs and purrs,

And stirs and stirs

The creamy bowl

While on the prowl.

His paws delights

In pudding bites

In pastry domes

And ice cream cones.

With cheese

If you please

And butter

In a flutter

But meat?

He won’t eat!
