#bandofsketchers prompt a couple of weeks ago was repairs. I painted some bottle kilns today, there are fewer and fewer of them in the potteries and a lot of them are listed buildings and in need of repairs to stop then falling down…
I have painted two urchin figures for out production of a Christmas Carol. They are meant to represent the boy and the girl clinging to the Christmas Present character. I’ve painted the on a brownish background to be pinned or taped to the brown trousers that my hubby will be wearing when he plays the part. I’m still trying to learn my lines, but he has a scroll to help him remember… In the book the boy is ignorance and has the word doom on his head, the girl is want.
One thing I really enjoyed doing a while ago were illustrations for a leaflet for the canal and rivers Trust. I’ve probably already mentioned. My friend provided the images to work from and I painted with Acrylics on watercolour paper. I did that to get the depth of colours without having to paint thin layers and I could paint over any mistakes I made.
I was really pleased with the results. I only remembered them because they popped up on my Facebook memories. I wonder what else will appear there?
The top picture was an amalgamation of the two harecastle tunnels at Kidsgrove, Staffordshire, a work in progress. And the second was a mill at Leek in Staffordshire.
