How do you express your gratitude?

With a note or in words
To receive and to give
Make good your gratitude,
Or say it with flowers?
For work of many hours
Giving back your pleasure
Of deeds well done
Or welcome support
In adversity.
For service rendered
Time spent in caring,
Thanks are required and accepted.

I wish my adult son would stop sending me ‘thank you’ cards or B-day cards for that matter, that a Hallmark paid writer creates. People have to grow gumption to say words themselves from their own heart.

Good point. I guess it’s similar to ‘likes’, it’s a manufactured thought. On the other hand it is him making a bit of an effort. I’m not sure which way I would go on that?

It might sound petty, but one reason I distanced myself from my stepson and his family was just that. I never got a thank you for Christmas, birthday, any present I sent, nothing. I thought I was petty, but now I think I’m possibly petty, but I don’t care. After a while, it hurts a person’s feelings to be dismissed like that.

It’s good to have some recognition. Just letting people know that they are appreciated x

Yeah, and it’s easy these days. I dunno; maybe I did something to alienate them, but I don’t know what. OH well…
