I just posted this doodle on Instagram. About 1 out of every 3 posts on my Instagram are now adverts or sponsored. Understand INSTAGRAM, I will never buy anything from these adverts, it’s a waste of my time and their time. I hide the ads when I see them, they are IRRELEVANT. I don’t buy things online, I hate adverts, I am bored by them, but I’m also not going to pay a premium not to view them.

OH YES! My son introduced me to and then installed ad blockers on my laptop and honestly, it’s a game changer. I don’t use Facebook or Instagram but had a real problem with sites such as YouTube and some news websites with intros, clickbait ads and pop ups that made them almost unusable at one point. YouTube has really annoyed me this last year or two. It’s gone off the charts between its annoying ads, intros and breaks and has gone insane with censorship.
Anyway, I’m told Ublock and / or SponsorBlock are the best for general use and are simple and easy to download and install. Think you can tweak and tailor them to suit and filter specific things but I personally just wanted to block them all. If links don’t work just type them into Google and it’ll take you to the right place.
