#bandofsketchers prompt travel, I wish I’d travelled to Hadrians wall and had seen the iconic “Sycamore Gap” before some idiots chopped the wonderful tree down. It was around 200 years old and healthy. Drawn in felt pens, imagining it’s autumn colours.

Yes me too. I never knew it was there, until it wasn’t.

It was in Robin Hood, Prince of thieves near the start of the film. I can’t understand why it was cut down.

Visiting Hadrian’s Wall, and hiking the area with the Robin Hood tree in the background, is one of my favorite hiking experiences. We stayed at Langley Castle in Haydon Bridge during that time, and I asked about the tree in the small pub we stopped at on our way home.
Such a terrible loss. And senseless.
