How do you pronounce Scone?
Is it sk-own, or scon?
Each is used in the UK
How do you serve it?
With Jam
With Cream
With Butter?
Or all three?
Etiquette matters!
Cream first
Jam first?
You can tell if someone
is from Cornwall or Devon.
I can never remember
which way they choose?
Just they do opposites
My way is butter, then jam
and cream on top. Yum
And with hot chocolate.
Although it should be tea to drink…
Dilemma time!

A fabulous poem. My mom, from Suffolk, says sk-own. My sisters and I, born in South Africa, say scon. We also have butter and jam, no cream 🍰

I sometimes just have cream x it was hard to think how to spell them phonetically x

My Aussie neighbor calls it sk-own.

Not heard it pronounced like that before. X it’s interesting, it always seems to be vowels that are changed in accents x

Yeah — I guess most of our sound comes from vowels.
