Since todays prompt is beautiful I decided to draw a beautiful view of the Ukraine. So sad about what is happening. Felt pen drawing, #bandofsketchers. I love the mist coming down over the hills obscuring the pine trees.

Lovely painting of a beautiful peaceful rural scene. I visited the Ukraine on a bus trip in 1989 when it was part of the former Soviet Union. While there we were entertained by some folk singers and musicians in traditional dress singing in Russian. I remember them doing “Those Were the Days My Friend” and they allowed us to sing along in English. That memory sticks in my mind many years later. I also remember Minsk as a beautiful city.

We are praying too! There are many Russians who protesting as well and risking arrest or worse to speak out against this horror.

Yes I saw on the news people were being arrested for protesting on Moscow.
