Something keeps digging up bulbs in the garden, from pots we planted up last autumn. The bulbs have roots on them but haven’t grown yet, (unless they are having the leaves nibbled).
I’ve replanted them a few times, but something comes back and pulls them up again. Not plants, just bulbs? Hubby thinks it’s a fox doing it. I think it’s a squirrel. Has anyone got an idea? The bulbs are in pots on the ground, not up on the wall where some of the other pots are. It seems to just happen at night. Could it be hedgehogs trying to find worms. We might start leaving cat food out for hedgehogs again.

I don’t think cats would do that, but maybe a fox? We have a lot of gophers here, do you have those, or something similar?

No, no gophers here! Rabbits yes, but only in the country.

Deer would, here. Squirrels, for sure. Groundhogs, mice – yes. Maybe chipmunks, foxes. Raccoons, yes. š¤·š»āāļø

LOL – in this area we also have raccoons, weasels, voles, and moles. And I’m not far from Philadelphia. Lots of woods, tho. Several years ago (in a drought) a coyote turned up but I never saw it again. š

And, re cats? I can imagine a cat dislodging a bulb to get it out of the way so the cat could use the pot dirt as a bathroom, but not to get at the bulb. Is it a large pot?

No, tiny pot!
