What book are you reading right now?

I’m reading an old Issac Asimov book. The stars like dust. It’s one I had in the 70s and haven’t read it since.
Asimov mainly wrote books about robots and formulated the three laws of robotics. But this book is about galactic intrigue and the attempts of a young man called Biron Farill, who is the main character of the book, to escape the Tyrrani who rule the Galaxy and are trying to assassinate him.
I have completely forgotten the story, it feels old fashioned but has intrigue. I can imagine watching an old film, some of the settings, seem clunky. But it’s worth reading, and I’m enjoying it.

Sounds good! I love syfy. I read a little bit of everything. Just got done reading the second book of a fantasy series called Iron Flame and now I’m delving into poetry books, Annie Dillard’s nonfiction masterpieces and a book called the spell of the sensuous by David Abram. ☕🤓❤

Nice! I’ve never really read any of the books, but I’ve watched a film called Nightfall when I was in my teens. It’s about a planet with 3 suns (I think) and it’s always light, until an eclipse turned everything dark. People went mad as they’ve never experienced darkness. They started burning everything lol Good story 👍

Interesting to find old books again. Decades in my library creates a welcomed reigniting of my relationship with authors. Once I pick the book off my shelf, blow away the dust from its spine and read, Oh, the magic returns. Kundera, Cortázar, and Pynchon right now.

It was written in 1955 and my copy is from 1973, I’m not sure if it’s still in print.

Between 1995 and 2008 I read almost any Asimov I could find. Some were old prints and some newer.

The Stars like Dust might be something I’m going to read. It sounds interesting, thanks for writing about it. On the other hand, I’m currently reading Hamlet, you’ve probably read it though.

Re-reading the river world series currently. I love Asimov’s stories. Grew up reading his work. My father had a full shelf of his works to explore.

Philip Jose Farmer. Published in the 60’s it’s a bit herky jerky but it’s a good story. The first book is called “To your scattered bodies, go”

Been trying to decide whether to re-read the Foundation series before watching it on Prime! I think I read this one too, but it has been so long.

Third book by Asimov I’ve read. My dad gave me The Foundation Trilogy, and alternativa finished it Thatcher I became kind of Asimov’s addict when still a teenager. Then He gave me Pebble in The Sky. And so I’ve bought The Star Like Dust, The currents of Space, I Robot, and luckily, Just after I’ve finished these, they published Foundation 2 and other Brooks continuing the saga, when Asimov managed to insert all early books in Foundation’s universe.
